Privacy policy

Version dated 22 September 2026. This is a translation provided for your convenience; the French version prevails.

This page explains what information we collect about you, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is COMPTOIR VINTAGE, an EURL with share capital of €30,000, 104 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris, France, Paris Trade and Companies Register 921 490 777. For any question about your data: info@comptoirvintage.com.

What we collect, and why

  • When you place an order: name, delivery and billing address, e-mail, phone number, contents of the order. We use these to process and deliver the order, keep you informed, and handle any return or guarantee claim. Legal basis: performance of the contract. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments: we never have access to your card number.
  • When you create a customer account: e-mail, name, addresses, order history. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • When you sign up to our newsletter: your e-mail address and the language of the site at the time you signed up. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every e-mail.
  • When you write to us through a form — booking an appointment, offering a piece for sale, leaving a review — : the information you enter (name, e-mail, phone, message, description of the piece). It is used only to reply to you and, for reviews, to publish them under the name you chose once they have been read. Legal basis: steps taken at your request and our legitimate interest in replying.
  • When you contact us by e-mail, phone, WhatsApp or Instagram: the content of the exchange. WhatsApp and Instagram messaging are Meta services, subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Legal obligations: we keep invoices and accounting records as the law requires, and may process certain data to prevent payment fraud (legitimate interest).

Your wishlist is not data we hold: it is stored in your browser and is never sent to us.

Cookies and audience measurement

  • Necessary cookies, set without consent because the site cannot work without them: cart, session and account login, payment security, and remembering your delivery country (cv_country cookie, one year) and your cookie choice.
  • Audience measurement: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It is loaded only after you agree; until you accept, or if you decline, no request is sent to Google. Advertising signals are switched off.

The site currently loads no advertising tool and no social-network pixel. You can change your mind at any time by deleting the cookies for comptoirvintage.com in your browser: the banner will be shown again.

Who has access to your data

The Comptoir Vintage team, and the service providers that allow us to run the shop, each for its own part:

  • Shopify (Shopify International Ltd., Ireland): hosting of the site and shop, payment (Shopify Payments), sending of our order e-mails and newsletter;
  • Google (Google Ireland Ltd.): audience measurement, only if you have accepted it;
  • carriers, including DHL Express: the name, address and phone number needed for delivery, and the information customs require for shipments outside the European Union.

We may also be required to disclose data to the authorities where the law demands it.

Transfers outside the European Union

Shopify and Google may process data in Canada and the United States. These transfers are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decisions (Canada; the United States for companies certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework) and, failing that, by the Commission’s standard contractual clauses. When you have a piece delivered outside the European Union, your contact details are necessarily passed to the carrier and to the customs authorities of the destination country.

How long we keep it

  • Customer and order data: for the duration of the commercial relationship, then three years from the last purchase or last contact.
  • Invoices and accounting records: ten years.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, and at most three years after your last contact with us.
  • Requests sent through a form: for as long as it takes to handle them, then three years at most.
  • Published reviews: for as long as they are online; you may ask for removal at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to the processing of and port your data, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to set instructions for what happens to your data after your death. To exercise them, write to info@comptoirvintage.com or to Comptoir Vintage, 104 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris, France. We reply within one month; proof of identity may be requested where there is reasonable doubt.

If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL: www.cnil.fr, or with the authority of your country of residence.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, a PCI DSS-certified provider; we store no card data.

This policy may change, in particular if we add a tool or service. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
