A British house built on weatherproof cotton and a check that became one of the most recognisable patterns in the world.

The check

Nova Check, Haymarket, House Check — the camel, black, red and white pattern Burberry first used as a trench lining in the 1920s, and which spent the 2000s on everything. The vintage pieces have the advantage: better canvas, honest leather trims, and the slightly faded palette that new production tries to imitate.

What we select

Shoulder bags, totes, small leather goods and the occasional trench. We check the coated canvas for lifting at the corners and the leather for dryness, and we photograph both, closely, before we list anything.
