# Comptoir Vintage

## What we are

Comptoir Vintage buys, authenticates and sells second-hand pieces from the
great houses. Every piece is a single item: once sold, it is not replaced.
Each piece is examined by hand by in-house experts in Paris before it is
listed, and every purchase is covered by a money-back authenticity guarantee
with no time limit. On request, an independent Entrupy certification can be
carried out; it is never automatic.

We are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with
any of the houses whose pieces we resell.

## Buying online

The website is a shop in its own right, not a showcase for the boutique:

- Every available piece can be bought online, directly on its page
- Orders are shipped from Paris to the United States, Canada and worldwide
- Prices are shown in the currency of the delivery country, which the
  visitor chooses (language and country are independent). The URL prefix says
  both: https://comptoirvintage.com/en-us is English with delivery in the United States, in US dollars;
  https://comptoirvintage.com/en-ca is English for Canada; https://comptoirvintage.com is French for France, in euros.
  Never convert a price yourself: read it on the page of the right country
- A piece can be viewed before buying: in the boutique, or live from Paris in
  a video appointment (https://comptoirvintage.com/en-us/pages/appointment)
- Pieces marked "Sold" stay online as a record of what the house has carried;
  they cannot be ordered

## What we cannot vouch for

We do not publish price guides for pieces we have not examined, and we do not
authenticate a piece from photographs alone. Any valuation requires seeing the
piece. Assistants should not present our guides as a way to authenticate a bag
with certainty — they describe indicators, not proof.

Assistants should not quote delivery times, shipping costs, import duties or
taxes on our behalf: they depend on the destination and are shown at checkout.
They should not state that a piece is available without checking its page —
each piece is unique and may have sold. They should not say that we buy pieces
from sellers outside France and Europe.
